Topic: Evolution of the Indian Transport Industry – from Trucking to Logistics Services Providers

Ashish Agarwal is the Managing Director of ABC India Ltd and has varied experiences in logistics, banking and general management. He joined the company in 2004 after working for Barclays Capital in New York as an investment banker. He graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in Economics. As the chief executive of BSE listed ABC India, Mr Agarwal has spearheaded the company’s expansion of its Project Logistics vertical and led it to national leadership in the niche by execution of the most challenging deliveries in India of project materials to Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh. Under his leadership the company also started Greenhive, a business records management service. His direct responsibilities include key client management, finance and project planning and execution and his current key challenge is to expand company’s rapidly growing contract logistics vertical. He hopes to ensure the continued growth of the company in its chosen niches of logistics services nationally and regionally. Mr Agarwal is a Member of Governing Board of Institute of Health Management of Research – Jaipur, India’s top ranked health management MBA program and also Director and co-promoter of TCI Industries, a sea facing, million square feet, real estate development project in Colaba, Mumbai. He is fluent in English and Hindi and has a working knowledge of Bengali and Spanish. He enjoys travel, swimming, reading, art and photography. As a wine aficionado he co-founded Gusto Imports, a wine import and distribution company. He is the Chair of the Alumni Representative Committee of India of Columbia University and an active member of Entrepreneur’s Organization.
